Making Swirly Laminated Turning Blanks

When turned, the laminated blanks described here will display unusual,
randomly shaped, multi-colored patterns and designs.

Although the process is most easily implemented in pen blanks, it works the same, and just as well, with larger blanks and billets. The limiting factor is how thick a piece of wood can be cut with a band saw or scroll saw. The blanks can also be cut up to create segmented bowls or make/decorate jewelry.
